Mysuru served as the capital city of the Kingdom of Mysuru for nearly

Patrons of art and culture, the Wodeyars contributed significantly to the cultural growth of the city and the state. The cultural influence of Mysuru to the state was so paramount that it has earned the nickname, 'Cultural Capital of Karnataka'.
